Fostering a Deeper Understanding of Education from Different Culture Backgrounds and Strengthening Collaboration for Progress
Organised by Jiangsu Educational Services for International Exchange, Suman Education International working with Manchester Metropolitan University and local schools successfully hosted about 140 teachers and educators from Jiangsu Province, China, who embarked on a CPD journey to the UK in 2024.
Those teachers and educators attended various lectures, workshops, and teaching observation in local schools, and cultural visits across the UK, which offers a comprehensive platform for understanding of education in the UK and for their professional growth.
Throughout this learning journey, Chinese educators delved into British approaches to personalised learning, curriculum development, educational leadership strategies, quality of education and the integration of technology in classrooms.
At the same time, they shared their expertise in areas where China has made significant advancements, such as teacher training, curriculum innovation, impact of the edtech on teaching and learning, teacher and students’ daily life in schools, and the infusion of cultural heritage into education.
This reciprocal exchange not only provided actionable insights but also cultivated a shared commitment to enhancing education worldwide.
In addition to academic engagements, cultural immersion activities in iconic cities such as Cambridge and Oxford enriched participants’ understanding of the philosophical and historical underpinnings of British education.
These experiences underscored common values, including a mutual focus on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development among students.
This journey not only opened their eyes to diverse educational practices but also inspired a vision for a more interconnected and progressive global education collaboration.
