Suman Supports Guangzhou Dragon Boat Teams at the 2026 UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival
Suman Education International welcomed and supported dragon boat teams from Liede and Yangji, Guangzhou, during their visit to the UK for the 2026 UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival.
Held at Salford Quays on 13 June, the event brought together dragon boat teams, community organisations and spectators for a full day of racing and Chinese cultural celebrations.
Festival Participation
The Guangzhou teams took part in the opening ceremony, safety briefing and a series of races at Huron Basin, progressing from the preliminary rounds through to the final stages of the competition.
Their participation also introduced local audiences to Guangzhou’s long-established dragon boat traditions and strengthened sporting and cultural exchange between China and the UK.
Suman’s Role
Suman coordinated the visiting teams’ UK arrangements, including airport transfers, accommodation, local transport, meals and daily schedules.
The wider programme also included visits to London, Cambridge and Manchester, together with cultural activities and attendance at the festival’s welcome events.
Suman’s UK-based team worked with the event organisers, transport providers, hotels and local partners to support the smooth running of the visit.
The programme combined international sporting participation with cultural exchange, helping to build stronger connections between Guangzhou and Greater Manchester.
